WILMINGTON — The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College has announced it will host “Blade Runner LIVE,” a live-to-picture concert event, on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026.

The event features a screening of Ridley Scott’s 2007 “Final Cut” of the 1982 science fiction classic on a high-definition screen. As the film plays, the Avex Ensemble will perform Vangelis’ Academy Award-winning, synthesizer-led score in synchronization with the motion picture.

The Avex Ensemble, known for their precision in live-to-picture entertainment, is specifically tasked with recreating Vangelis’ atmospheric, synthesizer-heavy score, ensuring the electronic music remains in-sync with the action on screen.

First released in 1982 and based on the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, “Blade Runner” stars Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, a “Replicant Hunter” navigating a dystopian version of Los Angeles. The 2007 “Final Cut” version being screened is the only edit over which director Ridley Scott maintained complete artistic control.

Due to the film’s R rating, the event is not recommended for young audiences, and the film will be shown with subtitles.

Tickets will be available online for Wilson Center Members starting Wednesday, April 8, at 10 a.m. Sales open to the general public both online and at the box office on Thursday, April 9, at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased here

The performance is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
