
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A multi-month investigation by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office concluded this week with the arrest of a Wilmington man on drug trafficking and weapons charges.

On August 19, detectives arrested Guy Braxton Williams after executing a search warrant at his home on McClammy Street, where they seized a substantial amount of illegal narcotics and weapons.
The search uncovered:
- Over 4,100 pressed fentanyl pills (324 grams)
- 384 MDMA pills (135 grams)
- 167 grams of cocaine (approximately 6 ounces)
- Additional quantities of marijuana
- Four handguns and two rifles
- One stolen dirt bike
Williams has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of trafficking opium/heroin, two counts of trafficking MDMA, and three counts of trafficking cocaine. He also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon and other narcotics-related charges.
“These arrests and seizures represent our continued commitment to keeping dangerous drugs and illegal weapons out of our community,” Sheriff Ed McMahon said in a press release. “The dedication of our investigators and deputies makes New Hanover County safer for all residents.”
Williams is currently being held at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $1.5 million bond. His next appearance in court will be on Sept. 4 in courtroom 302 at the New Hanover County Courthouse.
