
WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department have arrested four young people on gun charges.
According to the WPD, units were on patrol in the area of 17th and Wellington when gunshots rang out nearby just after 10:50 p.m. Officers immediately responded to the 2400 block of Troy Drive and found evidence that a shooting had occurred, where it located seven firearms.
Cape Fear Regional Special Teams SWAT and WPD Gun Crimes Task force executed a search warrant at a nearby residence where additional firearms were located. Two juveniles were also taken into custody.
Additionally, officers arrested 20-year-old Jaquan Robinson and 19-year-old Cornelius Allen.
Charges include discharging a firearm in the city limits, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and other offenses to follow.
This is an ongoing investigation.
