CAROLINA BEACH — The Carolina Beach Mural Project has published RFPs for its 18th and 19th murals. The winning concepts will capture the spirit of Carolina Beach with a permanent installation on a donated public space.
Mural #18
Mural #18 is an asphalt art project in the heart of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk district. The location for this mural is the alley located on Pavilion Ave North, between the boardwalk and Carolina Beach Ave North.
According to the RFP, the artist is free to use their creativity to come up with a colorful design that captures the vibe of Carolina Beach. The mural project is looking for a fresh concept that could be interactive and help make the alley a safe and fun place for community and visitors.
The Deadline for submission is January 5, 2024. The winner will be announced on January 30, 2024; installation will commence in early April and must be completed by April 30.

Mural #19
Mural #19 will be located on a small trailer that sits across from the Carolina Beach marina in a parking lot, 314 Canal St.
The mural is intended to celebrate the sport of fishing. Along the Crystal Coast there are Spanish mackerel, bluefish, bass, sea mullet, spot, speckled trout, red and black drum, pompano, stingrays and more. It is the artist’s choice as to feature fish indigenous to Carolina Beach waters, fishing boats, recreation and more.
The design can be realistic, pop art, photography or another style. The project recommends a car vinyl wrap to be used for this mural.
