WILMINGTON – The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College announced the holiday musical, “Million Dollar Quartet Christmas,” is coming to town this season, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
Members of the original Million Dollar Quartet team, Tony-nominated book writer Colin Escott, and original orchestrator Chuck Mead reunite with director Scott Weinstein for his new musical holiday celebration.
The show follows rock-and-roll newcomers and soon-to-be legends Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley as they celebrate the season.
The story was inspired by their real-life homecoming at Sun Records in December 1965. The show includes holiday songs and chart toppers that made the Million Dollar Quartet famous — including “Run Rudolph Run,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and more.
Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center members starting Wednesday at 10 a.m, and may be purchased online at WilsonCenterTickets.com or by contacting the Ticket Central box office.
Sales begin to the general public at 10 a.m., Friday, with the box office open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, in person or via telephone at 910-362-7999.
