PENDER COUNTY — Three people were found deceased inside a vehicle in Hampstead on Sunday.
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office responded to a missing person’s call and deputies reported to the Speedway gas station at 14477 U.S. Highway 17.
When they arrived, they found three people dead in the four-door sedan. The identities are not being revealed until the next of kin is notified, Sgt. Chester Ward told PCD. Though the reported missing person was one of the ones found.
“There’s nothing to believe it to be foul play or anything,” Ward said. “We’re waiting for an autopsy report, but we have an idea of probably what happened.”
As the investigation is ongoing, Ward would not yet reveal the probable cause of death.
