FORT FISHER — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Fort Fisher recreational area Tuessday in response to a reported found body.
A cyclist noticed the body of a man floating in the water and called 911 at about 5 p.m that day. Kure Beach Fire Department retrieved the body of 64-year-old Larry Darnell Faison.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office does not suspect foul play in this case and Faison’s body will undergo an autopsy.
In a release NHCSO said it will divulge more information as it becomes available.
