NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A controlled burn took place for a week in the 200 block of Lendire Road. It will resume again this week, according to a county representative.

Taking place behind the New Hanover County Fire Rescue Station 16, the Lendire Road burn will move into the second phase on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The burn will last another week, weather permitting, the county estimates.
