NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A 67-year-old man was arrested for possessing child pornography following a tip by the FBI.
The New Hanover County’s Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the FBI, took Stephen Harrison Durant into custody without incident. Deputies obtained a search warrant for Durant’s home, which was executed Tuesday. During the search, digital devices containing child pornography were seized.
Durant is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond for multiple felonies of sexual exploitation of a minor.
