Real estate market sales decrease year-to-date in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A real estate association is reporting year-to-date sales volume is down 3.9%, making an almost one billion dollar dent in Brunswick County in 2022. Yet, the sales to date still exceed $2 billion.

“Overall demand remains strong, prices continue to increase, and we continue to see a strong luxury market,” Brunswick County Real Estate Association CEO Cynthia Walsh said in a press release.

So far BCAR is reporting 24 listings sold beyond $1 million, with three over $2 million, and one sold in Ocean Isle exceeding $3 million.

Still, the residential real estate market is down 8% from last October, with the sales price increasing roughly by $40,000 — from $430,000 to $470,000. For the entire year, prices are up 11.9%.

New listings have fallen 24.4%, from 622 to 470, since last fall, with units sold decreasing from 487 to 444. Listings are remaining on the market on average 33 days.
