PENDER COUNTY — A Burgaw resident has been arrested on several sex-related criminal charges, including possession of child pornography. Additional charges are anticipated, according to the Pender County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Wayne Moore, 39, was arrested by the Pender County Sheriff’s Office on Friday at his residence. Officers from the special victims unit received information Moore was in possession of several sexually graphic images of a minor.
Search warrants led the detectives to uncover additional videos showing Moore was recording female minors using his bathroom from 2018 to 2022. The identities of the minors are unknown at this time as detectives continue to investigate the case.
Moore also was found in possession of hundreds of other images related to child pornography depicting young children, including one being sexually assaulted. Investigators do not believe the photos are related to children Moore has been in contact with.
Moore is being held under a $325,000 bond and his first appearance is Monday.
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office continues to stress the importance of monitoring children’s access to social media apps and the internet.
