WILMINGTON — Submissions are open for Cameron Art Museum’s “Illumination 2022” artist light exhibit.
Until Aug. 3, staff are taking proposals that explore traditional and contemporary media utilizing elements of color, texture, light and shadow. The chosen pieces will be placed in the museum’s eighth annual exhibition that opens Dec. 2.
Winners will also receive $1,500 in cash prizes. 1st place will be awarded, $750, second $500 and third $250. Prizes will be awarded during the opening party on Dec. 2, when the exhibit opens to the public. It will run until Jan. 15.
“Dream it, sketch it and submit it,” an exhibit spokesperson said. “For seven years now, we have been amazed by the variety of subjects, techniques and materials artists select for their visions of light. Whether fantastical or elegant, they always light up the room and the faces of our visitors.”
