Gunfire strikes vehicle Friday night, one person arrested

WILMINGTON — Wilmington Police Department responded to shots fired Friday evening near Meeting Road.

Around 8:30 p.m. law enforcement arrived at the scene to find a vehicle had been struck by gunfire.

With the assistance from the STING center, they obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Shortly thereafter, officers were able to locate it in the 4200 block of Hoggard Drive.

They charged Anthony Guin with carrying a concealed weapon-gun, discharge firearm in the city limit, and going armed to the terror of the public.

Guin received a $50,000 secured bond and is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
