NHC sheriff’s office arrests two in drug bust

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — After confiscating 5.5 pounds of mushrooms, 55 pounds of marijuana, THC edibles/vape cartridges, 10.5 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), three firearms, and approximately $51,000 in U.S. currency, the sheriff’s office made an arrest June 9 in Wilmington.

NHCSO vice and narcotic unit received information regarding drug activity at 202B Jordan Lane. Upon executing a search warrant, they arrested two people, Ahmad Amgad Ali and Bristol Marie Collier, at the residence.

Ali was given a $100,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • Trafficking marijuana (2 counts)
  • Conspire to traffic in marijuana
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute psilocybin
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute MDMA (ecstasy)
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute marijuana
  • Felony possession of marijuana
  • Maintain a vehicle/dwelling for use, storage and sale of controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

Collier was held on a $75,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • Trafficking marijuana (2 counts)
  • Conspire to traffic in marijuana
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute psilocybin
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute MDMA (ecstasy)
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute marijuana
  • Felony possession of marijuana
  • Maintain a vehicle/dwelling for use, storage, or sale of controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
