Candidate filing opens June 13 for Pender County soil and water districts

PENDER COUNTY — Individuals looking to file candidacy for the Soil and Water Conservation Districts needs to do so between noon on June 13 and July 1.

Pender County Utilities manages six water and sewer districts: Rocky Point/Topsail, Maple Hill, Scott’s Hill, Central Pender, Moore’s Creek and Columbia-Union.

To file for one of the districts, a candidate must visit the Pender County Board of Elections, 807 S. Walker St. and pay the $5 fee.

Voters must register for the November General Election by Oct. 14 and election day is Nov. 8.
