WILMINGTON — After witnessing a vehicle speed off rapidly in the 4300 block of Spirea Drive around 4 a.m. Friday morning, Wilmington Police Department officers followed the suspects.
One suspect fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later. Officers searched the vehicle and located several stolen debit cards and a firearm. After canvassing the area, officers located 10 vehicles that had been broken into, one of which was reported stolen.
Three individuals — Arionna McKoy, 20, from Fayetteville; Demetris McNeill, 18, from Fayetteville; and 18-year-old Jade Wallace — are charged with nine counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny of a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon. One 17-year-old juvenile also faces the same charges, as well as possession of a firearm by a minor.
McKoy, McNeill and Wallace are being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond. The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
