WILMINGTON — Over Memorial Day weekend, one of Duke Energy’s utility poles was damaged by a vehicle. Crews will make repairs on June 4.

It will involved “conducting some urgent repairs Saturday to the electric system along College Road, just south of Oleander Drive,” according to a release from the power company. Power outages are not planned as a result.

One or two lanes on College Road will be blocked for eight hours starting at 5 a.m. Motorists are asked to proceed with caution through the work zone and pay attention to the traffic shifts.
