WILMINGTON —Wilmington police are searching for two individuals possibly connected to a kidnapping.
Kayla Floyd, 33, and Alvin Sabatell, 27, were last seen leaving the Travel Inn on Market Street in a tan 2003 GMC Sierra that was stolen from an alleged assault victim, according to Wilmington Police Department.
Monday evening, around 6:27 p.m., officers say they responded to a call in the 4400 block of Market Street. Once on scene, they discovered one male victim who had been assaulted and kidnapped. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
Richard Blanton, 33, and Kimberly Martinez, 22, were arrested at Market and Kerr Avenue shortly after WPD was dispatched. Both were charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault by strangulation. Blanton was issued a $500,000 secured bond, and Martinez received a $250,000 secured bond.
Floyd, one of the two still wanted suspects, is described as a white female, 5-feet 4-inches tall, and 150 pounds. Sabatell is a Black male, 6-feet-4-inches tall, and approximately 200 pounds.
The NC registration on the stolen vehicle is EAF-3287.
