WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Submissions to apply for the Z. Smith Reynolds Internship of the North Carolina Coastal Federation’s southeast office in Wrightsville Beach are open.
This paid internship is ideal for students who are interested in spending a summer on the coast, educating and engaging the community in coastal preservation. The program will offer an informative experience to eligible and diverse students who want to gain hands-on experience working in a nonprofit setting, as well as being able to rebuild oyster reefs and coastal habitats.
Interns will be required to work with the southeast regional office team to apply coastal education and engagement tasks to aid in community outreach, habitat restoration, and water quality acts. Interns will support education, advocacy, and restoration program staff by researching, designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating regional projects, as well as help plan and advertise special and recurring events.
Interns should have some form of digital marketing experience in order to contribute to the federation website and social media.
Applications should be submitted no later than Feb. 21, noon. Students of color and varying ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Application information can be found at nccoast.org or by contacting Bonnie Mitchell, Coastal Education Coordinator at bonniem@nccoast.org.
