PENDER COUNTY SCHOOLS — Pender County Schools will hold classes virtually this Friday due to the forecasted inclement weather and hazardous conditions.
Students will receive instructions for Friday’s online learning at school on Thursday.
“Out of an abundance of caution the Board felt it was best to make this decision as early as possible,” Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill said in a statement. “Because of the unpredictability of the weather we would rather err on the side of caution to ensure the safety of our Pender County Schools families.”
The National Weather Service is predicting an ice storm with wintry precipitation starting Friday morning and continuing into Saturday. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the area.
