Brunswick County schools on 2-hour delay Wednesday

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Because of expected heavy rainfall overnight, Brunswick County schools announced it will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The district said it will ensure safer travels to campuses on Wednesday morning.

A flash flood warning is in effect currently for northeastern Brunswick County, northwestern New Hanover County and south central Pender County, according to AccuWeather. So far, between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain has fallen in southeastern North Carolina over the last 36 hours.

The Brunswick schools delay will affect all students and staff.
