SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Now that the Nir Family YMCA has expanded, it is in search of lifeguards, afterschool care counselors, swim-lesson instructors, and childcare staff, among more than 100 part-time employees. It will host a job fair on Aug. 15, 10 a.m. – noon, to offer the public more information about its opportunities. As well, a $150 referral bonus will be offered now through Aug. 15.
The primary provider of New Hanover County Schools’ afterschool programming, YMCA will work with 15 elementary schools. This will triple the size of its program, which will allow the nonprofit to serve up to 1,300 children. It will hire 50-70 more employees before the start of the school year.
The job fair will take place at 2710 Market St.
