NCDOT plans nightly inspections for Cape Fear Memorial Bridge

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced it would close downtown’s Cape Fear Memorial Bridge starting Sunday.

Crews will be inspecting the aerial cable beginning at 9 p.m. and will continue to do so nightly at the same time through Thursday. The bridge will reopen 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Drivers are directed to use the Isabel Holmes Bridge or Interstate I40 instead. Updated information can be found at DriveNC.gov or follow NCDOT on social media.
