WILMINGTON — All day on Earth Day, April 22, Wave Transit will offer free rides.
Free rides will be available for fixed routes and Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART).
“Using public transportation, even for one day, makes a positive impact on the environment by reducing the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere,” Wave Transit’s press release states.
Wave Transit will also sposnor giveaways for riders usign reusbale tote bags and other earth-conscious items Thursday. The authority will also donate trees to be planted on public land.
