Carolina Beach man sentenced 25 years for child sex crimes

CAROLINA BEACH – A Carolina Beach man will serve the next 25 years in prison after he was found guilty of multiple child sex abuse offenses.

David Chase Lewis, 32, was tried in New Hanover County Superior Court Monday morning. He pled guilty to statutory sex offense, statutory rape, incest and taking indecent liberties with a child, according to a press release from District Attorney Ben David.

During an investigation, Carolina Beach Police Department determined Lewis sexually abused a family member for four years. The crimes took place in the town and throughout other parts of the county.

Lewis was sentenced 300 to 420 months in the N.C. Division of Adult Correction. The judge ordered that Lewis register as a sex offender upon release and be issued a permanent no contact order with the victim.
