Mother indicted for second-degree murder of her infant in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC—A 35-year-old mother was indicted by a grand jury on Nov. 9 for second-degree murder of her infant.

In January, the Carolina Beach police and fire departments and New Hanover Regional EMS responded to a call to 707 Ocean Blvd. in Carolina Beach. Inside the home, they found 1-month-old Adalynn Elizabeth Garner dead.

Amy Marie Miles was arrested and placed on a $10,000 secured bond in connection with her daughter’s death.
