WILMINGTON — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has scheduled a precautionary boil water advisory for Sept. 8 for the Lewis Creek and Lewis Landing Drive area.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, about 400 CFPUA customers will be under the advisory at the Palisades at Lewis Creek community and all addresses on the following streets:
- Lewis Landing Avenue
- Bratton Court
- Ballaster Drive
- Branch Row
- Creek Bend Terrace
- Runaway Bay
- Grey Cliff Run
- Killdeer Lane
- Oyster Reef Run
- Dove Shell Way
- Mangrove Place
There may be temporary water service disruptions while crews are working on a water main tie-in in the area.
When under a boil water advisory, affected individuals must boil water for one minute before cooling it before ingesting, or drink bottled water. This includes water used for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing, pet consumption, and the preparation of baby formula. Customers do not need to boil water prior to using it for showering or bathing.
