Monday, March 2
The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will host a budget workshop at 9 a.m. at the Wrightsville Beach Town Hall Conference Room. The agenda includes:
- Capital Improvement Plan Updates
- Proposed Department Budget Review

The Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at the Pender County Public Assembly Room in Burgaw, 805 South Walker Street. The agenda includes the consideration of a resolution to redistrict the county’s commissioner districts and the adoption of the Southeastern North Carolina Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meeting will livestream here.
The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 3 p.m. at the David R. Sandifer Administration Building in Bolivia. The agenda is headlined by a presentation on the results of a countywide market study and associated salary recommendations to be considered for the upcoming budget. Additionally, the board will consider several deeds of dedication for water and sewer infrastructure in communities including Ocean Isle Beach and Harper Acres. The meeting will livestream here.
The Brunswick County Board of Elections will meet at 4 p.m. at the Board of Elections office, 75 Stamp Act Drive, building H. The agenda includes consideration of absentee ballots.
The New Hanover County Board of Elections will meet in the Multipurpose Room at the Board of Elections Office, 226 Government Center Dr. at 5 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to review absentee ballot applications and discuss other election-related matters as needed. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The meeting will be streamed here.
The Pender County Board of Elections will meet at 6 p.m. at 807 S. Walker St. to go over absentee ballots. The meeting is open to the public.
Burgaw Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at Burgaw Town Center. 108 E Wilmington St. Following a manager’s recap of the previous year, each department will give their budget presentations.
Tuesday, March 3

- Ordinance Making Supplemental Appropriation in the Amount of $140,300 to Allow for Reallocation of Funding within American Rescue Plan Act Projects. Read PCD’s reporting on this item here.
- Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Maps of the City of Wilmington to Rezone Property Containing 0.38 Acres Located at 5324 Wrightsville Avenue from R-15, Moderate-density Single-dwelling District to R-5, Medium-density Mixed Residential (Conditional District) for a Residential Development
The Surf City Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex. The agenda includes a resolution to update the town’s fee schedule to establish uniform charges and a tiered cost-recovery program for Parks and Recreation services. Additionally, the council will hold a public hearing and consider an installment financing agreement of up to $5.2 million for Phase 2 of the public utilities facility expansion, which includes new storage, maintenance, and office space at 1220 NC Hwy 210. Wednesday, March 4
The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- 4118 Market St.: Conditional district rezoning of the property containing 1.26 acres from RB, Regional Business to MD-17 (CD), High-density multiple dwelling residential, Conditional District for a 76-unit multiple-dwelling development.
- 910 S. Eighth St.: General rezoning of property containing .125 acres +/- from R-5, Medium-density mixed residential district to UMX, Urban Mixed-Use District

The North Topsail Board of Alderman will meet at 11 a.m. at the North Topsail Town Hall. The agenda includes a review of an ordinance regarding electronic bikes on the beach and the consideration of a resolution to adopt the Southeastern North Carolina Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pender County Hampstead Annex. The agenda includes the election of a new chair and vice-chair , as well as public hearings for three rezoning requests to allow for 104 townhomes in Topsail Township , 85 single-family homes in Long Creek Township , and a shift to general business zoning for 11.36 acres in Topsail Township. Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Finance Committee will meet at 9 a.m. at 235 Government Center Dr. in the Jordan Room. The agenda includes a $559,490 design-build agreement amendment with State Utility Contractors,
