Wilmington police seek second suspect in Shawn Grady murder, considered ‘armed and dangerous’

WILMINGTON — Hours after arresting a suspect in the shooting death of Shawn Grady, Wilmington authorities announced they were searching for a second suspect, considered to be armed and dangerous.

According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), Edward Demorris Huckabee, 38, is wanted for the First Degree Murder of Shawn Grady. Grady died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after being gunned down in a broad daylight shooting on Monday.

Huckabee has a long history of drug-related felony convictions and is currently awaiting trial for a number of local charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and a habitual felon charge.

While WPD is asking the public for any information on Huckabee, he should not be approached. WPD asks anyone who sees Huckabee to immediately call 911. If you have any other information or leads that can assist in the case, please call the Wilmington Police Department at (910)-343-3609.
