SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government and community meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, it will be included, too.

Monday, Sept. 14

The Brunswick County Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at Government Center Drive. Meetings can be streamed here and the agenda includes public hearings on:

  • A rezoning case for a roughly 5-acre property near Southport from rural residential to commercial low density 
  • The Tidebourne Landing Planned Development of 274 single family homes on 105.66 acres on Ocean Isle Beach Road. Read more here.
  • Village at Town Creek Planned Development consisting of 176 single family homes on 60.85 acres on Old Town Creek Road near Winnabow. Read more here.
  • UDO text amendments related to HB1222
  • A rezoning case for a roughly 7-acre property off Ocean Hwy W. from commercial low density and medium density residential to just commercial low density 

Tuesday, Sept. 15

The New Hanover County Board of Elections will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Board of Elections Office, 226 Government Center Drive. The purpose is to conduct regular business and discuss election-related matters. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participate in the meeting by phone or online through Microsoft Teams — dial 1-336-218-2051 and when prompted for the Conference ID, enter 327 426 4 followed by the pound sign (#). Brunswick County Board of Elections will meet at 6 p.m. in commissioners chambers at 30 Government Center Dr. Meetings can be viewed online here. The agenda includes appointment of early voting office, determination of time and place to county absentee ballots, and more.

Wednesday, Sept. 16

Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO will host a board meeting at 146 Gregory Road in the Water Treatment Plant Training ROO at 5 p.m. The agenda includes varied reports from directors and operational reports. Engineering also will present at $59K contract to upgrade labs, offices and restroom areas and a $64K to address Croft Pointe low pressure sewer connections.

Thursday, Sept. 17

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 11 a.m. in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press. 

The Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet at 1 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes: 

  • 1110 Windsor Drive: Variance to City Code Section 18-199 for the addition of an accessory building in front of principal building
  • 814 Macumber Alley: Variance to City Code Section 18-199 for the addition of an accessory building in front of principal building

The Southport Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the Indian Trail Meeting Hall. Meetings can be found here and the agenda includes:

  • Southport Crossing PUD Master Development Plan modification

The Navassa Town Council will host a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at 338 Main Street. An agenda was not posted by press.

Burgaw Planning Board will meet at Burgaw Town Center, 108 E. Wilmington St., at 5:30 p.m. An agenda was not posted by press. 

Town of Surf City will host a work session on Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The meeting can be streamed here. On the agenda is discussion about the Facilities Expansion Project Update, Bike & Pedestrian Plan Update, Ladder Truck Proposal, Committee Appointments and Automated License Plate Readers.
