2 people charged for gunshots fired at Leland Bojangles

LELAND — According to the Leland Police Department, two individuals involved in Monday’s accidental shooting at Bojangles, located at 109 Village Road, have been charged for discharging a firearm in town limits.

John Reid III, 18, and Scott Griffin, 19, each face the town ordinance violation, the LPD released Friday.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, officers arrived at the Bojangles on Village Road after receiving a call for service regarding shots fired. According to the police, Griffin and Reid negligently discharged their firearms, with Reid suffering an accidental, self-inflicted wound.

He was transported by ambulance with a non-life-threatening injury and has since been released.
