WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority is set to begin another round of excavations on a wastewater pipeline in the Town of Wrightsville Beach as a part of required modifications. The construction is expected to push back a road paving project and impact local traffic.
Construction is set to begin on the pipeline the week of Aug. 3.
The town says the impacted location is the same as recent construction on Pelican Drive, along Lee’s Cut and Channel Walk. Detour signs will be put in place to direct traffic flow.
Additionally, the pipeline work will delay finishing the paving Pelican Drive by two weeks. The new estimated completion date is Aug. 15.
