WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Water access to the Town of Wrightsville Beach Municipal Complex will be shut off beginning at 4:40 p.m. Friday, July 31. Water access will not be restored until Saturday afternoon.
The shut off is the result of the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority conducting waterline testing. Impacted areas include Wrightsville Beach Park and Historic Square, however, residential areas and businesses will maintain water access.
Water fountains and restrooms at the municipal complex will be unavailable during the waterline testing. Portable toilets will be placed adjacent to the Wrightsville Beach Park restrooms by the tennis and pickleball courts for public use.
The town expects water access to be restored by 12 p.m. Saturday, August 1. While restroom facilities will resume typical operations, the water will not be drinkable. A boil water advisory will be in effect until the CFPUA provides a clean water sample report. The town expects this to happen no later than Monday, August 3.
