WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Beginning June 1, the bridge at Causeway Drive (U.S. 76) over Banks Channel will undergo nightly lane closures according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
As part of the multi-bridge replacement project on Wrightsville Beach, drilling operations will begin on a portion of Causeway Drive (U.S. 76) over Banks Channel, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Thus, lanes will close on the Causeway Drive bridge located between North Channel Drive and Waynick Boulevard.
Both eastbound lanes will be closed and two westbound lanes will be converted into a single lane in each direction to allow limited movement.
The goal is to minimize disruptions during peak travel times for drivers. Work on the bridge is expected to be completed on June 26.
