WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority needs to replace damaged water valves and will close two lefthand lanes of Dawson Street between the 1400 and 1600 blocks.

Starting at 7 p.m., crews will close the two lefthand lanes of Dawson Street between South 14th and 17th streets; traffic will shift into the center lane. The intersection of South 16th and Dawson streets will remain open.

The 800 block of South 15th Street will also be closed to all but local traffic, with both the intersections at Dawson and Wooster Street closed to turning and through-traffic.

CFPUA anticipates the closure will last around eight hours.
