Shooting leaves one woman hospitalized as police investigate

WILMINGTON — According to the Wilmington Police Department one woman is in the hospital after being discovered shot in a downtown-area residence.

The WPD responded to a 911 call Friday afternoon at 3:30 in the 600 block of Bladen Street. Upon arrival to the home, they found a female victim inside who had been shot; she was transported to Novant NHRMC by EMS.

Law enforcement continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to call WPD at 910-343-3600 or text anonymously on the Tip 411 app.
