
WILMINGTON — Following an armed robbery and shooting on June 25, the Wilmington Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation leading to the arrest of two suspects. The incident took place in the 400 block of Evans Street.

Dakeon Abraham-Jones, 19, was apprehended in downtown Wilmington by the WPD and New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Field Force, a unit often deployed for high-risk arrests. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm. Diamond Holt, 22, was located and arrested separately by WPD patrol officers.
Both suspects are facing multiple felony charges. Abraham-Jones is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflict serious injury, and felony possession of stolen firearm. He is being held at the New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
Holt is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflict serious injury, and obtaining property by false pretense. She is being held without bond.
