PENDER COUNTY — Pender County Schools announced Monday its Summer Meals Program has been extended by two additional weeks, now running through Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025.

The program, which provides a full week’s worth of free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under, has already served more than 20,000 meals over the past five weeks.

“We are incredibly proud of the reach and impact this program has had so far,” PCS Superintendent Brad Breedlove said in a press release. “Being able to extend it means more children will have reliable access to food during the summer, and that’s a win for the whole community.”

Meal pickups take place each Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at designated locations throughout the county. No registration or ID is required.

Pickup Locations:

  • South Topsail Elementary
  • C.F. Pope Elementary
  • Malpass Corner Elementary
  • Rocky Point Elementary
