Law enforecement investigate 2 weekend robberies

WILMINGTON — Two robberies that took place across Wilmington are being investigated and the Wilmington Police Department is asking for assistance from anyone who may have information.

The first robbery took place at the Walgreens at 2130 S. 17th St. on Saturday, April 12. Police have footage of the suspect and say he is an African-American male.

The person was last seen walking toward Medical Center Drive, wearing a solid gray jacket, black hoodie and leggings and a yellow surgical mask.

The second incident happened before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 13. The WPD responded to the Kangaroo Express on Oleander Drive, where a suspect attempted to pass off counterfeit money and assaulted the cashier.

After stealing money from the register, the suspect fled the scene. He is described as a white male and wore a gray hoodie, camo hat, dark pants, dark shoes, and dark colored hair. 

Both investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD at (910) 343-3609 or use the anonymous Tip 411 app.
