WPD arrests male in fatal weekend stabbing

WILMINGTON — A 46-year-old male has been arrested in a fatal stabbing that took place Saturday.

Wilmington Police Department arrested Cedric Johnson with second-degree murder; bond information was not available by press.

Johnson was charged Monday in the death of 44-year-old Jeffrey Jermaine Scott. Scott died at the scene, despite EMS live-saving measures, on Saturday, April 5, in the 100 block of Montgomery Boulevard due to his injuries.

Law enforcement was called to the scene upon the reported stabbing and found Scott with severe wounds.

“We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the victim and his family,” the WPD release.
