Monday, Feb. 17
The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The New Hanover County Schools Title IX Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Discussion of cultural shift in schools
- Discussion of oversight of Title IX Department
Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes discussion of a UDO text amendment to remove the minimum lot area requirement for accessory dwelling units.
Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Pender County Public Assembly Room, 805 S. Walker St. The agenda includes an update on the Imagine Pender 2050 Comprehensive Land Use Plan and a request to issue citations for Pender County’s 150th Anniversary.
Kure Beach Town Council meets at 6 p.m. at 117 Settlers Land. The agenda includes approving an agreement with the Kure Beach HOA regarding debris removal, considering two applications for members of the Board of Adjustment and change in term limits to the Planning and Zoning board from five to four years. Belville ABC Board meets at 6:30 p.m. at 63 River Rd. The agenda includes status of current staffing and manager’s report. The public is welcome to attend.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

Brunswick County Board of Elections will meet at 2 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the David R. Sandifer Building, 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes a director’s report and a legislative update presentation on election law changes in SB 382.

Town of North Topsail Beach Zoning Board of Adjustment meets at 6 p.m. at 2008 Loggerhead Court, North Topsail Beach. The agenda includes a variance application by regarding a 20-foot front yard setback requirement in the UDO for 1108, 1112, 1116 New River Inlet, due to a 90-foot setback of CAMA. Wrightsville Beach Board of Alderman will meet at 5:30 p.m. at town hall at 321 Causeway Dr. The agenda includes consideration for a budget ordinance regarding pay rate increases for Ocean Rescue lifeguards and resolution consideration to exempt the town from NCGS 143-64.31 requirements for engineering and consultive services related to the bridge replacement projects, authorizing the town manager to execute an agreement for on-call engineering and consultive services with TranSystems. Carolina Beach will host a town council workshop at 8 a.m. on both Feb. 19 and 20. An agenda was not posted by press. The meeting is held at the Fort Fisher Recreation area (Riverview Restaurant) located at 121 Riverfront Road in Kure Beach but it won’t be livestreamed.
Surf City Technical Review Committee meets at 10 a.m. at Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W Florence Way. An agenda was not posted by press.
Topsail Island Shoreline Commission meets at 2 p.m. after the Jan. 23 meeting was canceled due to inclement weather. The agenda includes town updates from Surf City, Topsail Beach and N. Topsail Beach. It also includes finalization of 2025 accomplishments and goals and the spring legislative trip to Washington, set for April 28-30. Meetings are streamed here.
