Monday, June 24
Belville Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 p.m. at 63 River Road in Belville. An agenda was not posted by press.
Tuesday, June 25
The Leland Board of Adjustment will meet at 2 p.m. in Town Hall at 102 Town Hall Drive in Leland. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes an appeal hearing related to constructing new power poles and two variance requests.
UNCW Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 3 p.m. in UNCW’s Veterans Hall Conference Room 3533, 601 S. College Road. The agenda includes the faculty workload policy and distinguished professorship vacancy notification.
The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold an agenda review at 2 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Districtwide pre-K data presentation
- Title I literacy update
- Myrtle Grove Middle School settlement
- FY25 budget
The New Hanover County Board of Adjustment will meet at 5 p.m. in suite 110 of the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Oak Island Business Advisory Board will meet at 9:00 a.m. in the Police Department Training Room, at 4701 East Oak Island Drive. Meetings are open to the public. An agenda was not posted by press.
Carolina Beach Town Council will have a workshop from 9 a.m. to noon at 1121 Lake Park Boulevard. The agenda includes going over the final draft of the UDO and a first reading of a resolution to support New Hanover County’s ordinance on abandoned vessels.
Wednesday, June 26
Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer H2GO’s Board of Commissioners will meet at 5:00 p.m. in the Ro Water Treatment Plant Training Room at 146 Gregory Road in Belville. The public is welcome to attend the meeting. The agenda includes:
- A water shortage response
- Resolution– utility rate change
- Revised travel and reimbursement policy
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board of Directors will meet at 2 p.m. in a special meeting to go over grant opportunities and the organizational survey. The meeting will be followed by the board’s regular meeting at 3 p.m. in conference rooms 154A and 154H in the Skyline Center. The regular meeting will be livestreamed here, special meeting here. New Hanover County Workforce Housing Services Program will host an information session on June 26 and 28 here. Commissioners approved a $15-million investment over five years, with $3 million allocated this cycle. The goal of the session is to inform potential applicants about the program and associated Request for Proposals (RFP) process. Applications for RFPs launch July 8 and close at 5 p.m. on Aug. 5. Applications are judged on eligibility criteria and priorities the program, with the framework developed from findings from the Joint County/City Comprehensive Housing Study. This was put forth to address community housing needs by increasing the supply of residential units, retaining existing affordable housing stock, and increasing residents’ access to those homes.
Thursday, June 27
Brunswick County’s Health and Human Services Advisory Board will host its Annual Opioid Settlement Meeting at 9 a.m. in the Odell Williamson Auditorium at 150 College Road in Bolivia. The agenda includes:
- The state of opioid and substance use in Brunswick County
- Opioid settlement progress report
- Community and stakeholder input
The North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. in the North Carolina Maritime Building board room, 2202 Burnett Boulevard. An agenda was not posted by press; the public is welcome.
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will have two committee meetings: the sustainability committee meets at 2 p.m. and the long-range planning committee meets at 3 p.m. Both meetings will be held at 230 Government Center Dr; neither posted an agenda by press.
Oak Island Board of Adjustment meets at 10 a.m. in council chambers at town hall. The agenda includes multiple variance requests, available to view here. It’s open to the public and can be livestreamed here.
The City of Wilmington planning staff will host a Legacy Districts Community Meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The amendment summary can be read here and is available at the NHC Government Center (230 Government Center Drive). Staff will provide an overview of the amendment and review current development standards and then open the floor for comments and questions from residents.
