Tuesday, May 28
The Pender County Board of Education will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 Us Highway 117 S. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

The New Hanover County Board of Education will have an agenda review at 2 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

Oak Island Town Council will hold a special meeting to conduct a public hearing on the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget. The agenda is posted here.
Leland Board of Adjustment will meet at 3 p.m. in town hall. A quasi-judicial hearing will be held in regard to a variance request for Ingenium Enterprises to amend the number of parking spaces allowed according to town ordinance. See the agenda here.
Leland Town Council is holding a special meeting at 5 p.m. and will go into closed session; see the agenda here.
Leland Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. The agenda includes a quarterly update on Leland’s Comprehensive Plan, as well as to modify a development plan and design requirements. See the agenda and meeting here.
Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a public State of the Town meeting at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in the Community Life Center Building. Speakers at the event include Dr. Mouchine Guettabi from UNCW, who will be presenting an economic view of the region with a focus on Carolina Beach. Town Manager Bruce Oakley will speak about the proposed 2024-2025 town budget, and Mayor Lynn Barbee will give a State of the Town presentation. Q&A session will follow.
Wednesday, May 29
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet at 3 p.m. in the sixth floor conference room at 320 Chestnut Street. The meeting will be live streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050 Draft Financial Forecast and Alternative Funding and Financing Opportunities
- Resolution adopting the Cape Fear Navigating Change 2050 Vision, Goals, and Modal Objectives
Thursday, May 30
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 4 p.m. in room 139-138 in the NHC Government Center, 231 Government Center Drive. An agenda was not posted by press.
Carolina Beach Town Council will meet at 9 a.m. in council chambers, 1121 N. Lake Park Boulevard. The agenda includes a public hearing for a special use permit modification for a boat slip at 401 Marina St. There also will be discussion about remediation flooding efforts along Canal Drive. It will be livestreamed here.
