WILMINGTON — Thursday night just after 10 p.m., Wilmington Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Corbett Street in reference to reports of shots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers observed property damage, and according to WPD, 28-year-old Ashton Burns was located nearby and “resisted” when officers attempted to find out what he was concealing.
Burns was arrested for concealed carry of a handgun and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer. The press release does not explicitly state Burns’ involvement in the shooting. This investigation is ongoing.
