Under new operator, Kerr Avenue DMV reopens

WILMINGTON — A DMV license plate agency on Kerr Avenue will be reopening, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The office closed in September upon the operator’s contract expiration will flip the sign on again on Wednesday, April 16.

Operated by Ursula Ortega, the agency is located at 13 S. Kerr Ave. in the Market Plaza Shopping Center in Wilmington, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. It will be closed during state holidays.

The location issues title transactions, vehicle registrations, license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards, duplicate registrations, and more.

In addition to Kerr Avenue, two other agencies are open in the region to procure those transactions:

  • Wilmington, 2390 Carolina Beach Rd., Suite 108., from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 910-763-7076
  • Bolivia, 30 Government Dr. N.E., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., 910-253-2712
