SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, we’ll include that below the listed meeting, too.

Monday, April 1

Brunswick County Board of Commissioners meet at 3 p.m. at 30 Government Center Dr. The commissioners will hear a presentation about a Law Enforcement Memorial Projet, presented by Sheriff Brian Chism. See the agenda here; the meeting can be livestreamed here

The Wilmington City Council will have an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. at city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are live streamed here. 

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at the courthouse, 203 N. Third St., Room 301. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • County manager Port City United update
  • Community Child Protection Team annual report

Tuesday, April 2

Wilmington City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall in council chambers,102 North 3rd St. The meeting can be livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Public hearing for 2.98 acres at 204 & 206 N. Kerr Avenue for a 30-Unit Townhome Development
  • Resolution to amend a deed between the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County for land to build a grocery store. Read more from PCD here.
  • Ordinance making supplemental appropriation of $43,694 to maintain and make improvement for the Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park, Hugh Morton Amphitheater, and Althea Gibson Tennis Complex

Oak Island Town Council will hold a budget workshop at 9 a.m. in council chambers at town hall. Livestream meetings here.

Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Pender County Public Assembly Room, 805 S. Walker Street. The agenda includes approval of a $96,442 purchase order to SHI for an Endpoint Cybersecurity Solution to integrate the county’s cybersecurity programs and contract approvals for several water infrastructure projects.

Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Rankin Place Terrace, 415 N 12th Street.

Wednesday, April 3

Southport ABC Board will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the ABC Store located at 708 N. Howe Street. An agenda was not posted by press.

Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at Pender County Public Assembly Room at 805 Walker Street. The agenda includes HRP RRJ Hampstead LLC’s rezoning request for 2.18 acres from the residential performance district to the general business district. The six parcels of land involved in the request are on Jenkin’s Road and North St. John’s Church Road.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Finance Committee will meet at 9 a.m. at 235 Government Center Drive.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Executive Board will meet at 10 a.m. at 235 Government Center Drive. 

The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at city hall, 102 N. Third Street. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • General rezoning of 203 N. 23rd St. from R-10, Moderate-density single-dwelling district to R-5, Medium-density mixed residential district
  • Closures of portions of 23rd St.
