WILMINGTON — The Cape Fear Community College board of trustees has a new member.

Brad George, chairman of the Pender County Board of Commissioners, was sworn in at its March 28 bi-monthly meeting.

George relocated to Hampstead from Greensboro and served in the United States Navy. He has worked as a maintenance coordinator for GE Vernova for 33 years and served on the Pender County Board of Education for a decade before becoming a commissioner.

“Chairman George’s experience and commitment to community development and education make him a valuable addition to the board of trustees,” Jim Morton, CFCC president, said in a press release.

George will serve until June 30, 2027.
