NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A 48-year-old male has been arrested after he was suspected of escorting a victim from the West to East coast in an RV.

Ryan Klinger was arrested by the Coastal Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force. The operation includes multiple law enforcement agencies: FBI, New Hanover Country Sheriff’s Office, and Wilmington Police Department.

According to a release from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the task force obtained information from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. It was suspected a human trafficking situation took place in South Carolina and may have moved into Wilmington, North Carolina.

Klinger was located and the victim recovered from his custody. He was taken into custody without incident and no bond.

The task force identified over 500 commercial sex advertisements in multiple states and is working to bring perpetrators to justice.

Anyone with information regarding human trafficking or suspicious activity should contact local law enforcement immediately.
