Monday, March 4

The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are live streamed here

The New Hanover County Board of Elections will meet at 5 p.m. in the Longleaf Room, 1241 A Military Cutoff Road to review absentee ballot applications and discuss other election-related matters. The meeting can be acccessed by calling 1-336-218-2051, with conference ID 736 367 335 followed by pound (#). It’s also available via livestream here.

The Pender County Board of Elections meets at 6 p.m. at 807 S. Walker St. in Burgaw. The board will discuss absentee ballots. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Brunswick County Board of Elections will hold an absentee meeting at the board of elections office, 75 Stamp Act Drive NE, Building H, in Bolivia at 4 p.m. An agenda was not posted by press. 

The Southport Board of Aldermen will meet at 9 a.m. in the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay St. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Franklin Square Park Tree Assessment
  • Job Study and Classification Plan

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners meet at 3 p.m. at 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes administrative reports regarding the UDO update and a resolution to establish tree-removal regulations. The commissioners will also hear a report on a comprehensive transportation plan. 

Tuesday, March 5

The Wilmington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m.. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Maps of the City to Rezone Property Containing 7.87 Acres of Land Located 516 & 520 Mosley Street from R-5, Medium-density Mixed Residential District to MD-10(CD), Medium-density Multiple-dwelling Residential District (Conditional District) for a 60-Unit Senior Housing Development 
  • Ordinance Amending the Land Development Code, Chapter 18, to Exempt Currently Existing Bona Fide Farm Uses Over Ten Acres from Certain Zoning and Permitting Requirements

The Southport Board of Aldermen will hold a workshop at 10 a.m. in the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The workshop is to discuss changes to the Unified Development Ordinance, Public Comment for Rules of Procedure, the roles of the Board Liaisons on other committees, and private/public partnerships.

Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at Pender County Public Assembly Room at 805 S. Walker St. in Burgaw. The agenda includes approval of the East Coast Greenway Feasibility Study and an amendment to the unified development ordinance.

Surf City Town Council will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Surf City Municipal Complex at 214 W. Florence Way. The agenda includes acceptance of a bid for audit services and approval of the Oaks at Mill Creek subdivision plan.

Wednesday, March 6

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has two meetings: the first is for the finance committee at 9 a.m. at 230 Government Dr. in the New Hanover County Room. The agenda includes a $1.2 million contract for a contract with Pine Valley Construction Company, LLC. for the repairs and renovation of CFPUA’s administration building. The second meeting, from the executive committee, takes place at 10 a.m. and includes the executive director’s report, among other reports. It takes place at 235 Government Center Dr.

The New Hanover County Airport Authority will be meeting in the Terminal Building’s Executive Conference Building at 5 p.m. An agenda was not posted by press.

Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Rankin Place Terrace, 415 N. 12th St. 

The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in city hall, 102 N. Third St. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Conditional District Rezoning of 1124 Floral Parkway and 3704 Garden Avenue containing 0.374 acres +/- from O&I(CD), Office and Institutional district (Conditional District) and a portion of O&I (Office & Institutional) to O&I(CD), Office and Institutional district (Conditional District) for a commercial district mixed use (CDMU) development.
  • Conditional District Rezoning of 204 and 206 N. Kerr Ave. containing 2.98 acres +/- from R-5(CD), Medium-density mixed residential district (Conditional District) and O&I(CD), Office and Institutional district (Conditional District) to R-5(CD), Medium-density mixed residential district (Conditional District) for a 30 unit attached townhome development.  

The Brunswick County Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. in the conference room of The Center of Applied Sciences and Technology, 1109 Old Ocean Highway. Meetings are live streamed here. The agenda includes: 

  • Village Road connector 
  • Benchmark training contract 

Thursday, March 7
