LELAND — A portion of I-140 in Brunswick County will be repaved near Leland.
About 5 miles of the interstate — between interchanges U.S. 74 and U.S. 17 — will be milled and resurfaced by Fayetteville’s Highland Paving Co. North Carolina Department of Transportation awarded the company $9.6 million earlier this month.
The work will also include preservation of several bridges along the stretch of roadway to include replacing expansion joints, sealing cracks and doing surface treatment to the concrete driving decks.
Highland Paving Co. will begin early next year and has until summer 2025 to complete the work.
